To calculate the total number of rows in a range, here’s what we can do:

**Example:**

We have taken colour and sales in reference to products.

**Previously: How to build a summary count of non-blank categories in excel? **

Now, to calculate the no. of rows, this is what we will do:

We will use the ROWS Function.

*Please note: that we are using the ROWS Function and not ROW Function.

**=ROWS(**

The following function requires array.

The array in the above example is our overall data, which is
**B3:D9**.

So overall, the formula becomes:

**=ROWS(B3:D9)**

Now, all we have to do is press **enter**.

And BAAAAMMMM!!! The answer is 7 i.e. the total no. of rows in the range (or array) are 7 in total.

It’s easy, isn’t it?
