Sort an Excel Pivot Table Manually
Have you ever wanted to sort your pivot table manually? Like somehow you have created your Pivot Table ready and sorted nicely both from a row and column perspective but still, something is missing? You are just wondering to do one minor sorting tweak or more.
Well, don’t worry I’m going to tell you that Excel seemingly has a lot of tricks that will help you to sort an Excel Pivot Table manually.
Here to show you, for example, I’ll use this Pivot Table given below. You can see that it is sorted by Quarters (Q1-4), and Products. But to show you I will move Beverages to the top, and the Q4 as the First Quarter.
Sorting An Pivot Table
Firstly, click on the cell you want to move to manually sort a row and until you don’t see the four arrows, Hover over the border of that cell e.g.
Hold and drag it to the position you want (here I’m doing upwards to the first row) by doing left mouse click.
Now after manually sorting a row come to the manually sort a column, for this you need to click on the cell you want to
Move and until you don’t see the four arrows Hover over the border of that cell.
Hold and drag it to the position you want (for example I’m doing all the way to the left) by Left mouse click.
