An easy way to join the first and last name in excel is to follow these steps:

First and Last name

We have taken an example above which shows first name as well as the last name of all the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. show characters (ignoring the middle name).

Now if we want to bring the first and last name together, hereโ€™s what we will do:

First and Last name

Always remember, to bring a solution you have to put the โ€œequal toโ€ sign first.

After putting the sign, we will select the first name, i.e. Chandler (cell B3).

First and Last name

Then we will put the sign of and i.e. &.

First and Last name

Then we will jot down โ€œ โ€œ.

Please note, that there is space between the quotation marks, if you do not put space between the quotation marks then your end result will come as ChandlerBing and not Chandler Bing.

So, be careful at this step.

First and Last name

Now again put the sign of and i.e. & then select the last name i.e. Bing (cell D3).

First and Last name

Press โ€œenterโ€. And you will get your answer right on the screen!

Chandler Bing (one hell of a character!!!)

First and Last name

Now take your cursor to the bottom right corner of your result and drag it down. It will make your work easier. Now you donโ€™t have to write the formula again and again for every name.

First and Last name

Itโ€™s easy, isnโ€™t it?
