To count the total characters, present in a particular cell, you can use the LEN Function. By characters we mean, anything present in the cell, be it the symbol, alphabet even space.
Let’s take an example:
As you can see in the image above, we have jotted down some sort of content on the right hand side (RHS).
Step 1: Input the formula =LEN(
Now to count the no. of characters in each cell, we will use the LEN Function.
The LEN Function is as follows:
Step 2: Input the required values in the formula
The following formula requires text.
The text will be the content present in the cell. So basically, we will select the cell to count the characters present in the same.
And press enter. BAAAMMM!!! The answer is 28. The total number of characters in cell A2 is 28. This 28 includes the space, all the alphabets present in the cell, and if there is a symbol or a sign then the count of the same is included in the same as well.
Now all you have to do is drag down the formula till its required and your work will be done for the rest of the cells as well.
